Once in a while, you meet someone who inspires you to reach inside yourself and get back in touch with your creative spirit.

Uli Geissendoerfer was that person for me when we decided to do this project. Uli encouraged me to write lyrics to my song “Verrazzano” and to his wonderful “Wedding Song”, and to record some of my other original songs. His arrangements and creativity have taken my music to unexpected places, and I would like to think my music inspired him, too. Just listen to his beautiful, pianistic interlude on “Verrazzano”! He also encouraged me to sit down and play and sing a song I have always loved, “Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most”, as a last cut and special color on our musical tapestry. In putting this project together, Uli gathered some of the finest musicians and the best recording studio in Las Vegas “The Hideout”. Thank you, Uli, for all you did to bring this project to life…I am so grateful for our collaboration and friendship.

My deepest thanks also to my wonderful husband, David, for his ongoing love and support of me, especially in my musical endeavors!

1-“Think I’m In Love” Composed by Laura Taylor
This song was on a Diana Ross platinum album. I wrote the words and music and decided to finally record it myself! I am so thrilled with Uli’s arrangement, and Charles McNeal added so much with his great solo! Backgrounds were so much fun, too, singing with Gary and Tymara!

2- “Lovelight” Composed by Laura Taylor
If there is such a thing as a muse, she visited me when I wrote this song, and visited Uli when he wrote this brilliant arrangement!

3- “One of a Kind” Composed by Laura Taylor
I can hear so many people singing this song, but can’t imagine anyone doing it better than Patrick Hogan!

4- “Wedding Song” Composed by Uli Geissendoerfer Lyrics by Laura Taylor
I heard this on one of Uli’s great CD “The Extension”. I loved it and asked if I could write lyrics. Singing with Gary made it even more special!

5- “Can’t Help Myself” Composed by Laura Taylor
Another fun song, especially having Gary and Tymara on board!

6- “Verrazzano” Composed by Laura Taylor
When I lived in NYC, I could see the Verrazzano bridge from my bathroom window. It was so beautiful that the music just came to me. It had no words until Uli encouraged me to write them this year! His beautiful interlude moves me deeply every time I hear it.

7- “Care For Me” Composed by Laura Taylor
I had the pleasure of singing this song and “Think I’m in love” on The Merv Griffin Show. I did 2 more appearances on the show, with Merv insisting that I do my own music…so I did! Ramiro’s flugel horn on this inspired me so much, along with all of Jake Langley’s special effects on the guitar!

8- “Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most” Music by Tommy Wolf /Lyrics by Fran Landesman
I have loved and sung this song almost my whole career. I hope you enjoy this version.❤️
